TARC PROGRAMS

TARC offers more than just job placement, it’s also a place for personal growth for TARC individuals. With its special programming, TARC individuals enjoy Music Therapy in which the program utilizes music to achieve non-music goals as well as assessing emotional well-being and social functioning. In addition, TARC’s first social club, Let’s Get Together, was created to foster social interaction and educational needs outside of work. TARC’s newest organization, TARC Extension, was created recently to involve both parents and families of TARC individuals to facilitate more communication between the organization and those caring for their loved ones outside of work. TARC’s new Activity Center affords all TARC individuals with the opportunity to participate in exercise, arts and crafts, and even play a game of pool or air hockey!

MUSIC THERAPY

Servicing all individuals associated with TARC, including Sunshine Express Day Care, the MUSIC THERAPY program is a long-standing and well-enjoyed program. Providing individuals with musical opportunities, not otherwise available, enables them to enjoy life to their fullest potential. Fun Drumming was recently added to the Options Plus program in which individuals learn colors, letters, and rhythm while teaching coordination.

LET’S GET TOGETHER CLUB

The LET’S GET TOGETHER CLUB meets regularly (once a month) through educational programming, movie nights, barbecues, spring and fall dances, as well as field trips out of town. The club is a way for all TARC individuals to enjoy social interaction outside of work hours. Members must fit the eligibility requirements in order to participate in the club. The club lives by their motto: “Learn, Laugh, Live.”

TARC EXTENSION

TARC EXTENSION is one of TARC’s newest programs tailored to the parents and families of TARC individuals. Quarterly meetings are held by TARC’s Executive Director to communicate directly to the families of individuals served by TARC. It’s a growing organization, and TARC is looking forward to fostering closer relationships with the families.

ACTIVITY CENTER

The ACTIVITY CENTER creates opportunities for all TARC individuals as well as staff to enjoy exercise equipment and new programs such as arts and crafts, air hockey, and even pool! TARC individuals also utilize the center during their Options Plus program and after work hours.
